But as I&#8217;ve grown up, I&#8217;ve learned a lot more about autism, and autism has become more mainstream and less hidden than it used to be. My friends and colleagues are always very interested to hear about Omar.<\/p>\n<p>Many of my blog posts will revolve around Omar. I&#8217;ll include stories about being a sibling. But I&#8217;m most excited to share what I have learned from Omar &#8211; I&#8217;ll call these posts &#8220;Lessons from Omar&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Omar continues to be my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apa.org\/gradpsych\/2010\/01\/matters.aspx\">inspiration<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>People often ask me why did I become a psychologist.
